Brow Lamination & Tint Aftercare

Follow these aftercare guidelines to get the most out of your results!

BROW LAMINATION

  • Do not wet the brows for the first 24hrs following the treatment - this includes avoiding swimming, saunas, facial treatments and sweating(working out). Any excess moisture during this time can cause a slight frizz to the brow hairs or disrupt the new bonds of the hair.

  • A small aftercare bottle of castor oilwill be provided to you after your service. Use this aftercare oil daily for best results (start using it on the second night post-treatment). Brush upwards through the brows before bed, let it sit overnight and wash off the following morning. Using the oil will help to keep the brows nourished and healthy, and minimize dryness and frizziness as the brows grow back out.

  • Brush your brow hairs up daily to keep the lifted effect strong - even before you go to bed!

  • Do not apply makeup or undertake further facial/skin treatments for at least 24 hours after your lamination service

  • Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat

  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA, or exfoliate around the brow area for at least 72 hours before and after the treatment.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face and/or side during the first 24 hours post-service to avoid any awkward kinks in the brow hairs

  • No self-tanning products to be used on/around the face one week prior, and 48 hours after the lamination treatment

  • TIP: to style the brows, use a brow gel to brush them upwards and to help keep the brows in place throughout the day. (tip #2: use a tiny amount of drugstore product Got2B hair gel, apply to your brows and brush upwards to set them in place all day long)

BROW HENNA

  • Do not get your brows wet for at least 24 hours after the service to allow the henna to set into the skin - this includes showering, saunas, sweating from working out

  • Try to not get them wet too often. After getting them wet, always lightly pat them dry with a clean towel to prevent the water from soaking the henna.

  • If you have oily skin, it is crucial to monitor your brows throughout the day and making sure the brow area remains dry. Use oil blotting sheets or tissue to absorb the oils around the brows.

  • Avoid using skin exfoliators around the brows. If you must, only exfoliate from the eyes down, but avoid the forehead and brow area.

  • Avoid touching, scratching or rubbing the brows

  • HOW TO LOOK AFTER BROW LAMINATION IN THE FIRST 24/48 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT

As part of your eyebrow lamination aftercare, it is crucial that you:

    • Avoid getting the brow area wet for 24 hours
    • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours
    • Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours

We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run up to and the days after your royalty beauty palace treatment:

    • Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment
    • Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki coloured brows)
    • Your stylist will apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours

HOW DO I KEEP MY BROWS IN SHAPE AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks

CAN I GET MY LAMINATED BROWS WET?

You should avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Coming into contact with water could interfere with the lamination process and impact the longevity of your treatment. Avoid swimming pools and baths for 24 hours and be extra careful in the shower and when washing your face (avoiding if possible).

CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

Your stylist can apply some make up to complete your treatment. After that, we recommend that you avoid applying any heavy make up around the brow (such as foundation or concealer) for 24 hours after. The hair follicles can remain open for a while after hair removal, so if you are prone to sensitivity or breakouts, you may find that heavy make up could clog the pores.

CAN I GO ON A SUNBED AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

After hair removal, the skin can be left sensitive and prone to irritation from heat. For this reason, you should avoid sunbeds for at least 48 hours after your brow lamination treatment.

HOW CAN I REMOVE BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination is a chemical process, similar to a lash lift or hair perm, so is not something that can be removed. However, the hairs are not fixed in place so if you don’t like the brushed up position, you can simply brush them back down with a spoolie brush and they will stay in place all day. The results will fade after 6-8 weeks and your brows will return to their natural growth pattern.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT DO AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

Here’s what not to do after your brow lamination treatment:

Do not get the brows wet for 24 hours

Do not use sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48 hours

Do not touch or rub the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment

Do not exfoliate or apply anti-ageing skincare or tanning products around the brows for three days after your treatment

Do not forget to apply your conditioning serum twice daily

Stick to these rules for the very best results.
